Blair Hughes
Blair had his first experience of yoga when he was 18 years old.
He was preparing to represent Scotland in a sporting match against Ireland when the team's sports psychologist walked into the changing room and prescribed strange breathing techniques followed by weird visualisation techniques.
The experience that day was a game changer and Blair was curious to learn more.
The sports psychologist suggested he learned about yoga. Blair bought a book on yoga, watched his mother's Madonna yoga videos and dabbled in yoga throughout his twenties, whilst travelling the world as he pursued a career as an engine technician.
It was another 16 years later that Blair arrived in Australia and walked into a yoga studio in Neutral Bay called Power Living.
Within 12 months, he had completed the Power Living Teaching Training and was teaching 10 classes a week in gyms and studios throughout Sydney.
Over the next eight years, Blair completed over 700 hours of yoga teaching training with Simon Borg-Olivier, Baron Baptiste and Cameron Shayne, along with advanced workshops with influential teachers such as Richard Freeman, David Swanson and many others.
During this time, Blair also completed Exercise and Holistic Lifestyle coaching with the Chek Institute, San Diego.
Blair loves to learn and his teaching style embodies his own personal journey, which incorporates the teachings and wisdoms of his many mentors from yogic and shamanic lineages.
His greatest passion is to share his journey and move people towards discovering their purpose and unveiling their gifts and talents.
Blair’s classes are delivered in his very best West Highland Scottish accent.
His classes are challenging yet fun, and his intention is that you leave feeling grounded and empowered.
